Interesting sayings on window stickers

During lunch I was looking for a new “Terrorist Hunting Permit” sticker; having found it I looked around the web site and found some other interesting verbiage.

Patriotism is Supporting Your Country All the Time and Your Government When It Deserves It

If you can read this thank a teacher, if you can read this in English, thank a vet.

Random Thoughts

It’s lunch time and I thought I would put down the various random thoughts I have.

Tomorrow is Sept. 11, 2010; the 9 year anniversary or memorial of the attacks by radical Muslims on the USA and its’ people. I believe for many that the attacks are just a distant memory, the solidarity that was created by the attacks has now left many Americans. I personally still feel the same sorrow for those lost now that I did then. I have come to love my country and its people more since that day. I worry more about the direction the government is taking us and feel lost as to what action I can take to correct the course.

We continue to hear the USA needs to be tolerant of others ie Muslims and their beliefs. What about ours?!!! Is there no taking into account that people were killed 9 years ago for some fucked up religious war the Muslims have laid on us. Yes, the USA has military in many places some I am sure we don’t need to be it but they are fighting others with guns. We are not randomly lining up civilians and killing them. Part of me wants the “EYE FOR AN EYE” justice to kick in so we, the USA, can kick ass.

Move the mosque! In the USA we have freedom of religion; that means the government will not and does not mandate a religion the people must follow. That’s a big part of why our ancestors came to America to begin with. I’ve heard there are some 200 mosques in New York already, don’t build one at ‘Ground Zero’. Move it several blocks away and all will be fine. The muslims scream for the Americans to be respectful and tolerant of their beliefs, where’s the respect from them toward us. This is America, if you don’t like it GET THE HELL OUT!

I’ve been trying to take my blog entries and convert them into a MS Word document, making a book of sorts. I have toyed with the idea of giving it to my wife and step kids, thinking that the might read it. I started writing for that very reason, I am positive they have not seen any of what I have written with the exception of one or two entries, the poems. Now I think it would simply be too big for them to be able to read due to lack of attention and in some cases lack of caring. I am pretty sure my wife would read it and would switch between being angry, sad, hurt, upset, etc… as she read what I’ve felt over the last year.

I have taken time to look over the entries and I see FAILURE. Failure on my part of being able to change enough to form much of a relationship with my step kids. I am too tough on following the rules and respecting your parents to make it work. I really have just given up. I am focusing more on my Hapkido and playing with our dog, at least I know where I stand on those. Hunting season starts in November, I am starting to focus on prep for that also.

Time to go; Work is calling.

Burning the Quran and global reaction

The world is full of idiots. The most recent one to show up is a pastor of a small church in Florida. He is planning to burn multiple Qurans on 11 Sept. in a protest demonstration aimed at the radical Muslims that act out against others. The USA has a 1st Amendment that does allow such a protest to take place just as that same 1st Amendment allows the burning of the US flag and other demonstrations. It does mean it should be done or is smart. I personally think the guy’s of his rocker by thinking he will accomplish anything. In fact I am willing to bet that the very groups he is protesting toward will use his actions to promote the wrong impression of the USA and say this is being done by all Americans not just this one clown. Once the seed is planted of how bad America really is, what will the followers of the radical Muslims do next?

I know for fact that the planned burning of the Quran is being reported in Europe as not a little church but as America is burning the Quran. How far from the truth can that be? There are protests in Afghanistan over this; they are burning the US flag… the AP reports: “If Quran is burned it would be beginning of destruction of America,” read one English-language banner held up by the protesters, who chanted “Down with America!”

This is either the tip of the iceberg that will hopefully melt or the beginning of more trouble for America, and the world.

UN-APOLOGETICAMERICAN:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America

and to the “REPUBLIC” for which it stands;

one nation under God, indivisible,

with liberty and justice for all.

I grew up reciting this every morning in school; it is a crying shame we no longer do that for fear of “offending someone”.

Cinco De Mayo and being an American

The holiday of Cinco De Mayo, The 5th Of May, commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at The Battle Of Puebla in 1862. It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican state capital city of Puebla and throughout the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico, and especially in U.S. cities with a significant Mexican population. It is not, as many people think, Mexico’s Independence Day, which is actually September 16. (http://www.mexonline.com/cinco-de-mayo.htm)

Explain to me why this is celebrated in the USA? If you are of Mexican heritage from the region of Puebla then I can understand some pride but why the hell has it become a defacto celebration in the USA? I would be willing to bet that most of the Mexicans (used to represent those here legally) are not from the Puebla area.

This is the USA where we have one National flag.

Absolutely no other flag should fly above it and only one can fly equal to it, the Texas flag.

All this “the flag is offensive” crying is nothing more that a load of crap.  Does anyone remember these words an KNOW what they mean?

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for all.

I Pledge Allegiance: I Promise to be faithful and true (Promise my loyalty)

to the flag: to the emblem that stands for and represents

of the United States: all 50 states, each of them individual, and individually represented on the flag

of America: yet formed into a UNION of one Nation.

and to the Republic: And I also pledge my loyalty to the Government that is itself a Republic, a form of government where the PEOPLE are sovereign,

for which it stands,: this government also being represented by the Flag to which I promise loyalty.

one Nation under God,: These 50 individual states are united as a single Republic under the Divine providence of God, “our most powerful resource” (according to the words of President Eisenhower)

Indivisible,: and cannot be separated.   (This part of the original version of the pledge was written just 30 years after the beginning of the Civil War and demonstrates the unity sought in the years after that divisive period in our history)

with Liberty: The people of this Nation being afforded the freedom to pursue “life, liberty, and happiness”,

and Justice: And each person entitled to be treated justly, fairly, and according to proper law and principle,

for All.: And these principles afforded to EVERY AMERICAN, regardless of race, religion, color, creed, or any other criteria.   Just as the flag represents 50 individual states that cannot be divided or separated, this Nation represents millions of people who cannot be separated or divided.

The bottom line is simple: This is the United States of America not some middle eastern country, not Mexico, etc… If you come here LEGALLY you are welcome but you must become an American and not try to change the ways of the USA to that of the country you left. If you wish to change it the go back to where you came. There is a very small number of people that can trace their ancestry to ONLY the USA, most of us have roots from other countries but choose to be Americans and call it home.
